Where heritage meets innovation - Est. 1840

Patchett Joinery is a family-run company based in West Yorkshire, beautifully crafting and installing premium quality windows and doors since 1840.

Founded in the 19th century, Patchett Joinery began as a general joinery firm, making anything a customer required, from coffins and carts to doors and desks.

Today, we continue to bring unrivalled expertise and experience to creating high-quality bespoke windows and doors, specialising in listed buildings and homes in conservation areas.

Made in Britain

All of our products, including replacement Sliding Sash windowsCasement windows, timber front doors, Bi-fold doors, glass screens and patio doors are expertly manufactured to your specifications and combine the carefully honed skills of timber craftsmen with the latest advances in technology.

From start to finish, we design and craft the best quality products at our Bradford workshop and install them throughout the UK.

Sustainable practices

We are a great choice for customers who are mindful of their carbon footprint. Our expertly made windows and doors come with an excellent product guarantee against preservative failure of 50 years with Accoya and 30 years with engineered timber, standing the test of time whilst remaining energy efficient.

We are striving to create a more eco-friendly manufacturing process, as such our timber is sustainably sourced and FSC certified and we use an eco-friendly water-based painting system, whilst their state-of-the-art machinery meets current energy efficiency standards.

We also turn any residual timber waste into briquettes and have introduced solar panels and biomass boilers to keep our carbon emissions as low as possible.

History of Patchett Joinery

19th Century

The history of Patchett Joinery spans nearly 200 years, starting with the establishment of a general joinery firm in Queensbury, Bradford in 1840. The firm started by making anything a customer required, from coffins and carts to doors and desks.

Throughout the war years, we made boxes for ammunition, rifles and many other items to be despatched overseas. This included large packing cases for gliders that were towed carrying invading troops into France. In post-war Britain, we entered into a ‘National Scheme for the Employment of Disabled Men’, taking on an approved percentage of disabled ex-service men.

20th Century

The company helped meet the demand for new housing by building in the London suburbs. At the time, the tube network was spreading further into the countryside. We created housing, shops and other amenities for the fast growing communities that were forming. By the 1950s, the company was a prolific house builder as well as retaining properties under management to provide private rented homes for the post-war housing crisis.

Innovation and enterprise have shaped the company over the years. Robert John Patchett took over the reigns from his father at the age of 19 and whilst keeping the housing and joinery businesses busy, he developed an interest in poultry and egg production. The company was soon supplying poultry equipment to farmers around the world.

Today

In 2010 Patchett Joinery moved to crafting timber windows and doors for the replacement windows and doors market, on the same site, utilising over 100 years of joinery experience.

Our sister company Patchett Homes, still manages over 400 properties today.
