Chris & Jake were excellent.

Yesterday was completion day on my new bay windows, and I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you and to tell you how pleased I am.

From my initial contact with Nicholas Tetlow about how I wanted my new windows to look, to their installation, Patchett Joinery has not disappointed. I saw many joinery companies before reaching across the Pennines to Patchett Joinery as I couldn’t find a company that listened to me and understood what I wanted to achieve (this wasn’t anything unusual, just replacement windows that looked like the originals). I often felt patronised or told not to worry about important architectural details. Nicholas listened and immediately understood what I was looking for and the final windows are just what I wanted.

I would also like to mention your very conscientious fitters Jake and Chris who did an excellent job, they were courteous, professional and meticulous, Chris even rescued a robin that flew inside while they were setting up, above and beyond! Obviously the craftsmen that built the windows, whose names I don’t know,  did a wonderful job too.

Nicholas warned me that once I had some of your windows I would want more and indeed, he was right. Patchett Joinery are also helping me with a replacement decorative cornice to a lead gutter for my kitchen roof. I had another company lined up to do this but when they didn’t get the order for the windows they refused the job. Once this repair is complete and funds allow, I will be ordering more windows.

I find that people are very quick to criticise and slow to praise. I was very worried about replacing my windows as it is such a large investment and important architectural feature but couldn’t be more pleased with the results. Please pass on my thanks to your team.

From start to finish the whole process was very straightforward and I was kept up to date the whole time. A couple of my neighbours have asked about them and where I got them from, so you may have some potential customers.

Myself personally can’t understand why people fit UPVC windows in old characterful homes when your windows look period, are better made and will outlast any plastic ones.

The new windows are superb and are really well made. I chose yourselves because you had fitted all the windows in Burley House and all the windows in the old Malt Shovel and they look fantastic.

We chose Patchett Joinery after visiting several Accoya window suppliers.  They were able to deliver the traditional aesthetic of a Georgian sash while meeting the building control requirements for new builds. The windows look and feel great.
