What is a timber casement window
Casement windows are hinged on either side of the frame and open outwards like doors. Some people think of them as old-fashioned but they’re actually very versatile and can be made to a wide range of specifications. Original casement windows in older properties often come with a host of problems including drafts and sticky latches but replacing them with new timber casements means you’ll have attractive yet modern windows that are made to last.

With timber casement windows you have a wide variety of options to choose from, making it easy to select windows that will perfectly suit your home and lifestyle. When it comes to the design, whether you’re looking to replicate original windows in an older home or seeking modern windows for a new build, casements can be created to suit. If you’ve got specialist bay or bow windows, that isn’t a problem. We can build windows to any specification, including curved using curved glass. You have a large choice of handles and an even bigger choice when it comes to colours. Any RAL paint colour can be used, including stains, and we can even do a 2-tone finish.
Casements can be made to open as wide as you want. If it’s for a child’s bedroom we can add restrictors to prevent them being opened too wide, or if you want the window to open to a full 90 degrees, that’s possible too. This enables you to have a means of escape.
If security is your concern, you’ll be pleased to know that our timber casement windows feature multipoint locking. This secures the window in several places in the frame. Our hinges, locks and fittings are made from strong stainless steel and feature security hinge protectors. If you like to have fresh air in your home, you can lock these windows on a ventilation setting, or if you prefer, we can fit trickle vents, concealing them with a timber canopy on the outside.
